USF Kolonien
A new outdoor space for the cultural institution USF Verftet (United Sardine Factory) designed by 3RW arkitetker, destined for outdoor concerts, cinema projections, art exhibitions, yoga, petanque, food trucks and various other cultural activities.
Inspired by New York’s MoMA PS1 format of creating a pavilion in Brooklyn for concerts that each year get a different design, the institution sought to offer an outdoor space in the summer for cultural happenings in the city. To cater for the city’s unpredictable weather, the arrangement is partly covered by a tent designed by Petter Bergerud and locally produced, and also has a vast outdoor space for sunbathing.
