We have received ‘rammetillatelse’ for the construction of three family houses overlooking the city in the centre of Bergen. The project will replace an existing dilapidated house from the 1920’s and will be comprised of three new dwellings in a cluster structure or ‘klynge’. The houses are designed for generational living with each unit having step-free access via an elevator from the underground parking. The buildings will be constructed largely from wood and stone and will have panoramic views of the valley.
The project has been developed through a close dialogue with the city architect from whom we received positive feedback:
– ByArkitekten
Both client and architect have high ambitions to set a precedent for how Bergen can densify its inner-city residential areas whilst maintaining a harmonic relationship with its historic building fabric and unique mountainous landscape.
