BAS Bergen School of Architecture

Bergen Arkitekthøgskole (BAS) – The Bergen School of Architecture – carried out a complete rehabilitation to improve these classrooms, workshops, and offer a library, cafeteria and more spaces dedicated to culture.
This also includes more teaching spaces so that the school can receive more students of architecture.

3RW arkitekter have assisted with the strategic plans of the building for the future development of the institution and its reconstruction. 3RW had the project and design responsibility for the 6th floor of the building. The rehabilitation finished with a concrete loft that hosts the masters studio and with the rebuilding of the basement silo to provide a public cultural space.

The current emphasis on energy-efficient buildings means that BAS has achieved the passive house standard for parts of their buildings. This was done through cooperation with Sweco. The project received Enova’s support in 2014.
