Stangeland School & Stangelandhallen
A school shaped as a new interpretation of a four-winged farm, where the courtyard promotes the schools uniqueness; a place for learning and sharing art, science, music, cooking and craft
The sump ecology on the site is very rich, there is a lot of nutrition in the soil, plants grow very quickly and are regarded as the most species-rich landscapes in northern Europe. Part of the education at the School becomes a practical educational project where the students themselves participate and influence the ecological succession. Sustainability and ecology become a locally anchored and visible part of the school’s identity.
